Join paramedics from the Grandview Heights Division of Fire as they provide an introduction to the skills, techniques, and tools available for regular citizens to help save lives.
According to the CDC, traumatic injuries are the number one cause of death for Americans under the age of 44. This includes injures from motor vehicle crashes, home accidents, and violent incidents. Uncontrolled hemorrhage is a leading contributor to those deaths, but it is also frequently treatable and preventable.
Skills to be covered include:
Recognition of Severe Bleeding – Wound Packing – Tourniquet Application
Everyday citizens have been making a difference and saving lives after learning how to stop uncontrolled bleeding, and that is exactly the STOP The BLEED initiative aims to do.
