Pets in Parks
In Grandview Heights we love our furry friends. The map above lays out the pet-friendly parks in our City. Please be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your pet and keep them under control at all times.
Certain parks, including Pierce Field, McKinley Field, Wyman Woods (except on the perimeter path only) and C. Ray Buck Sports Park, are posted “No Dogs” and as such owners are not permitted to allow their pets into these parks. This helps keep playing fields and playground equipment areas clean and safe for our children and community at large.
- For details, see section 505.06 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Grandview Heights.
- City ordinance 505.04 states that “no person, being the owner or having charge of any dog, cat, or other domestic animal shall permit it to run at large upon any public property, including sidewalks, rights of way and streets, or upon the premises of another.”
- Failure to clean up after your pet is not only disrespectful to your neighbors, it is also illegal (Section 505.05 of the Codified Ordinances) and poses a health hazard. Humans and their pets are susceptible to a host of parasites and other illnesses that can be transmitted via fecal waste; these diseases include Hepatitis A, hookworms and others. Children are especially susceptible to such illnesses. Please be responsible and clean up after your pet.
